The Newell School District delayed the start of classes by one day after heavy rainfall caused flooding inside the school building over the weekend.
District officials say staff members and community volunteers quickly responded to help clean up the water and prepare the building for students.
School leaders thanked those who assisted with the cleanup effort, saying the community’s response helped minimize disruptions.
On Monday, the district announced that conditions had improved and the building was ready for students. Classes are now set to begin Tuesday.
