CHERRY CREEK, S.D. – A Cherry Creek man has been sentenced to four years in federal prison for assaulting his intimate partner and illegally possessing a firearm.
Federal prosecutors say 31-year-old Tiger Condon was sentenced Monday after pleading guilty to assault resulting in substantial bodily injury to an intimate partner and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.
According to authorities, Condon kicked in the door of a home in Eagle Butte in November 2024 and repeatedly struck the victim, causing serious facial injuries. Prosecutors say that after being arrested and later released on bond, Condon returned to the residence carrying a pistol.
Because of a prior South Dakota felony drug conviction, Condon was prohibited from possessing a firearm under federal law.
In addition to the four-year prison sentence, Condon was ordered to serve three years of supervised release, pay a federal assessment, and forfeit the firearm and ammunition involved in the case.
The investigation involved the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe Law Enforcement Services, the FBI, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
