SUMMERSET, S.D. – The City of Summerset says the playground at Leisure Lane Park will close beginning Monday, August 24th, as crews begin a major improvement project.
City officials say the closure is necessary to remove aging playground equipment and prepare the area for the installation of new play structures. The playground will be barricaded off during construction to ensure public safety.
While work is underway, the rest of Leisure Lane Park will remain open and available for visitors to enjoy.
In a statement, city officials thanked residents for their patience and cooperation as the project moves forward, saying the upgrades will improve the playground for the community.
The city has not announced a completion date but says a public notice will be issued once the new playground is finished and ready to reopen.
