SPEARFISH, S.D. – Spearfish Bike Week is officially underway, with cyclists from across the region taking part in a weekend packed with trail rides, scavenger hunts and community events.
Activities began Saturday with the Spearfish Trails Coalition Party in the Woods, featuring mountain bike rides and family-friendly scavenger hunts. The celebration continued Sunday with a community bike ride and barbecue.
Organizers say the weeklong event will continue with additional scavenger hunts, group rides and bike maintenance workshops leading up to one of the region’s premier mountain biking events, the Dakota Five-O.
The annual Dakota Five-O race is scheduled for September 6 and is expected to attract riders from around the country to the Black Hills.
