RAPID CITY, S.D. – A Rapid City man has been sentenced to nine years in federal prison after admitting to sexually abusing a minor.
Thirty-eight-year-old William Beane Davis was sentenced on Aug. 31 in U.S. District Court. In addition to his prison term, Davis will serve five years of supervised release and must pay a special assessment.
Federal prosecutors say Davis was in a relationship with the victim’s mother and had served as a father figure in the girl’s life. The victim reported in 2025 that Davis had sexually abused her on multiple occasions. Davis later admitted the abuse occurred between December 2020 and March 2021.
Davis was originally indicted in July 2025 on multiple charges, including aggravated sexual abuse of a minor and providing a controlled substance to a person under 21. He pleaded guilty to abusive sexual contact in May 2026.
The case was investigated by the FBI and the Oglala Sioux Tribe Department of Public Safety. Following sentencing, Davis was taken into custody by the U.S. Marshals Service.
