New affidavits released in an investigation involving South Dakota billionaire T. Denny Sanford are tying a child pornography image to his California home. According to the affidavits, six e-mails from Sanford’s account were sent to an unnamed address in 2019, containing various images containing child pornography. The documents place him in Sioux Falls the day before they were sent from an account under his name and in the same location. A California home once owned and apparently divested of ownership by Sanford, yet with ties to Sanford Health, was the location where one of the pictures was allegedly taken. The documents also show the South Dakota billionaire’s name was used in various spoofing and phishing e-mails, while the South Dakota Attorney General’s Office said last year it would not pursue criminal charges against Sanford in relation to the case.
